10/21/2010 2:13 PM, Alain: I believe the tag is wrong (maximize opportunities for a 2nd shot). Black surely doesn"t want to shoot more blots in the future. This would only improve White"s timing. 15/9* 3/2* shoots 2 blots, ok, but these are the shots that least improve White"s timing. 44 pips behind, white cannot yet plan to play a backgame, he will soon have to leave black"s 4-point. After black"s move White will be 9+2+44+7 = 62 pips behind, still much to little. This is the best attack on the 2-point, attempting to prevent the possibility for White to enter a 1+2 backgame. Not shooting at all, with 15/14/8 is very wrong, because than white will likely get shot himself, may be twice if he dances, equalizing both sides in the race. What do *you* think ?
